Cat's claw is a woody vine native to the Amazon rainforest and other tropical areas of South and Central America. Its use dates back to the Incan civilization. It has been employed as a contraceptive, anti-inflammatory, immunostimulant, and antiviral.
Cat's Claw is also known as Una de Gato and is named for the sharp, curved thorns found on its stem. Cat's Claw contains several of the polyphenols, in addition to triterpines and the plant steroids, beta-sitosterol, stigmasterol and campesterol.
