Primary Uses
Myrrh helps promote digestive health and helps with problems like stomach upset, diarrhea, dyspepsia, ingestion, flatulence and hemorrhoids.**
Myrrh has been shown to lower LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) levels, as well as to increase the HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol) in various tests on humans done in the past few decades. A 2009 laboratory test showed this same effect on albino rats.[1]
Dosage
Myrrh preparations should be used according to label instructions.
Safety Issues
Myrrh appears to be a relatively safe substance. Safety in pregnant or nursing women, young children, or people with severe diseases is not established.
